In case anyone was wondering:

Quatermass and the Pit was originally released in North America as Five Million Years to Earth ...

Excellent, eclectic list.

I read recently that Redford was planning a follow-up to THE CANDIDATE, showcasing the same character as he makes a presidential run. Not sure if it's still on the horizon. Oh, and THE CANDIDATE has the greatest last line of any film ever made.

As for WAR GAMES, I spent many nights as a kid trying to crack in into Canada's military systems using my VIC-20. Didn't QUITE get anywhere -- but it was sure as hell fun to try!

Ooh, I'd love to see a follow-up to The Candidate.

Another film that should have been on my list: The Paper Chase

I still remember shivering after watching Quatermass and the Pit as a kid. That was such a good movie.

Mark Brown, who guest blogged on my blog last week has a serious love affair with Quartermass (another solid brit sf blogger).

Check it out

Dang, Rob...you and I have a few titles in common on this list...

"GENTLEMEN, YOU CAN FIGHT IN HERE! THIS IS THE WAR ROOM!" -- Peter Sellers, Dr. Strangelove

What an incredibly fun movie!

i'd have to sit down and seriously think about some other favorites of mine, but you got some terrific pics on this list.

BTW, have you seen this commercial in Canada for a GPS system? It feautres various "famous" computers, including the WarGames computer. Very nostalgic.
