The Creative Review has excellent taste

... as evidenced by this newsletter's very nice article about me entitled "Great Canadian Sci-Fi," in Volume 2, Issue 1 (Winter 2007), on page 5, which you can download here.

(No, I don't go ego-surfing for my name; Google currently has 350,000 references to me, and it would take the rest of my life to look at them all. But the author of The Creative Review was kind enough to draw his publication to my attention. Many thanks, Don!)

Actually, you don't have to ego search for your name anymore; Google will do it automatically for you.

If you go to http://www.google.com/alerts, you can tell Google to email you whenever a new webpage appears referencing a certain term. Your name, for instance, or the titles of your novels. It'll send you an alert every day if something new comes up everyday. Which probably will if you blog everyday, because that'll flag Google too, since you're the author of the posts.

Hi, John. Many thanks! Actually I do use Google Alerts on my name but have it set to alert me only about "News" (newspapers, magazines, etc.). You have the choice of "News," "Blogs," "Web," "Groups," or "Comprehensive," the last being all of the preceding ones together. The news stuff is of interest because it often provides review quotes and so forth that can be used on new editions of my books.
